Chinese online companies removed Israel from digital maps

Leading Chinese companies Baidu and Alibaba have removed the name of Israel from their online digital maps.

According to the report of the American newspaper Wall Street Journal, the name of Israel is no longer present on the online maps of the online retailer Chinese company Alibaba and the leading technology company Baidu.

The report noted that Baidu's online maps were showing Palestinian territories along Israel's "recognized" borders but Baidu's online map does not have the name Israel as a country identifier.

The American newspaper says that the name of a small country like Luxembourg is also present on the online maps, but the name of Israel is not there.
